What is your most prized possession?
My most prized possession would have to be the love of my family and friends. These are the people that I depend on as my support system and shoulder to lean on when times get tough. No matter what goes on in my life they are always understanding and support every decision that I make. Material things come and go, but at the end of the day you will always have your family and friends to count on.
What is something few people know about you?
One thing that most people don't know about me is that while I was being born there was a loud noise in the delivery room that sounded like a gunshot. The doctor informed my parents that my collar bone had just broken, and that this only occurs once or twice per year. After learning that I weighed 9 lbs. 4 oz. and was 22 inches long, the doctor told my mom, "That's what happens when you put a quarter in a nickel slot". At two weeks old I had to be taken to a bone specialist to make sure my collar bone was healing properly. I guess you can say I came into this world with a "bang".
What do you do to stay healthy?
To stay healthy I stay active throughout the week, whether it’s simply walking around campus or shopping at the mall. I workout in the recreational center at Lamar University for at least two hours every day, and in my spare time I play volleyball and run. I enjoy being outside and riding my bicycle as well. I also try to eat as healthy as possible, but sometimes that forbidden food just calls my name.
Are you a good listener or good talker?
I consider myself to be both a good listener and a good talker. Part of being a good friend to someone is the willingness to listen rather than talk. This takes time and effort, but if you can make time to listen to others and respect what they have to say, then that is a sign of a good friend. I am also a good talker because I know when it’s the right time for me to speak up, and give my opinion on certain situations. I believe in life its best to be both a good listener and talker because you never know what your friend will need from you.
Name 3 characteristics you look for in a friend.
The three characteristics that I look for in a friend are honesty, the ability to be non-judgmental, and someone that I can be myself with. Honesty is important in a friendship because at times it is better to get hurt with the truth than get hurt with lies. Being non-judgmental is also very important in a friendship because people make mistakes in life, and you should not have to worry about whether your friend will judge you by your mistake. They should be understanding about the situation, and care about you regardless. Your friend should always be someone that brings out the best in you, and that you can be yourself with. If you can’t be comfortable enough to let your wild and crazy side come out once in a while, then why be friends. A person always needs to surround themselves with people who only bring them up, and make them feel good about themselves.
